Follow these steps to set up your voicemail greeting using the OpenPhone web or desktop app.

  • Create a text-to-speech voicemail greeting

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Navigate to My Phone Numbers (or Company Phone Numbers for admins)
  2. Click on the phone number you want to set a voicemail for
  3. Scroll to the Unanswered calls section
  4. Click Change
  5. Choose your preferred method:
    • • Upload a file: Support for MP3 or WAV files
    • • Record: Create your greeting directly in OpenPhone
    • • Text to speech: Type your message to convert to audio

Mobile App Setup

Setting up your voicemail greeting on the OpenPhone mobile app is straightforward.

Note: Text-to-speech option is only available on the web app. For this feature, please use the web version.

  1. Launch the OpenPhone mobile app
  2. Tap your account on the top left corner
  3. Tap Manage next to your phone numbers
  4. Select the phone number to modify
  5. Tap Voicemail Greeting
  6. Choose to record a new greeting or upload an MP3 file
  7. Select your new recording (marked with a purple checkmark ✔︎)
